Where I started

Hi there :)  Thank you for stopping by.

Who is a solo traveler like me?

I have been traveling since I was 16 and today, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself when & where I started my journey.

akanejourney

It all started with this movie..."HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL"

If you are Gen Z or millennial, I know you know it.

When I saw this movie, all I wanted was to go to a high school in the states and experience all the dance parties like homecoming or proms because we do not have any events like that in Japan. And being asked to go to a party...isn't it a dream?

So I did. It was't that simple but i did what i had to do to convince my parents!

And all I had to do was to study.

After experiencing a study abroad program in Georgia (the U.S),

my dream got expanded more than ever!

But when I tell people about my experience in the States, everyone seemed to be a bit surprised as they were expecting something sparkly and magical!

I mean....same!!

I thought I would have a chance to go to California and live in LA dreams, you know?

But I was wrong... ..here is my expectation and the reality.

EXPECTATION

california
San Diago, California

REALITY

Fort Valley, Georgia

Don't get me wrong! I loved all the nature and cows lol

It was just not what I was expecting. Especially THE ACCENT!!

That thick southern accent was a huge change for me...!!

As soon as I got back from the States,

I was talking in English like "Hey Y'all" not knowing that is the southern thing lol

For the next blog, I am going to talk more about southern food I truly enjoyed

because goddamn... they were delicious!

Anyway, bye y'all!!! see y'all sooon!!!
